The University of British Columbia (UBC) has introduced an early application deadline for post-secondary applicants studying within Canada.
Students who apply by the early deadline of December 1, 2018, and submit their interim official post-secondary transcripts and required documents by January 15, 2019 will be considered for admission on their interim transcripts. Applying early does not increase a student’s chance of gaining admission, but it does mean students will be evaluated earlier and will receive a decision between February and mid-April. If a student’s application is not competitive based on interim post-secondary grades, they will be asked to submit final transcripts for an evaluation in June.
Students who apply after the early deadline but before UBC’s official application deadline of January 15, 2019, will only be required to submit final official post-secondary transcripts and required documents by May 15. Canadian post-secondary applications received between December 2, 2018 and January 15, 2019 will be evaluated on final transcripts and decisions will be communicated to students beginning in May and through June 2019.
If you have any questions regarding the early application deadline to UBC, please speak to a staff member at Student Services.
