Addition , to this if we motivate students to reduce the waste of coffee cups by organizing a website and updating examples from daily life ,visual motivating by showing them  videos revealing the effects of coffee cups waste, publishing an article and by spreading pamphlet among the college students.

It is challenging issue to reduce the waste of coffee cups  ,According to Erica Johnson (Reporter):”Canadians throw out about one and a half billion disposable coffee cups a year, cups that most municipalities don’t recycle because there’s extra cost involved: the inner plastic lining needs to be separated from the paper. Both Starbucks and Tim Hortons have been criticized for that waste, so they’ve introduced recycling bins in many stores.” Now it is a matter of concern to reduce the coffee cup waste. So that it is easy for the municipalities to recycle the coffee cups.

According to Global Responsibility Goals& Progress Report, ’reducing the environmental impact of our cups depends on the success of two interrelated efforts: developing recyclable cup solutions and dramatically increasing our customers’ use of reusable cups. A lot of our customers are also working to reduce their own environmental impact even as we are. To help them help us, we offer a 10-cent discount in the company operated stores to encourage customers to use their own reusable mugs or tumblers for their beverages.

Therefore, it is compulsory for the students to take action against increasing waste in Columbia College. Every student should be habitual for using eco friendly goods like recyclable coffee cups or mugs, recyclable paper etc. If we carry our own reusable coffee mugs then we can help Columbia College in lowering the waste of coffee cups in college campus. If students consume coffee then the coffee cups left over should be collected by the student volunteer and should sell them to recyclable coffee depot. Student volunteer if find any student who is responsible for creating a waste should be imposed by fines so that students should get a lesson not to create a waste.
